When we say air fryer, we’re sure there are a few classic recipes that come to mind, like Frech fries, cauliflower bites or fried chicken. But there is a lot more this mighty piece of equipment can do. In fact, air fryers are one of the most versatile appliances you can have in your kitchen and there is no shortage of air fryer recipes for foodies like yourself to try.
What Can You Cook In An Air Fryer? 5 Recipe Ideas
Over the past few years, air fryers have become one of the trendiest kitchen appliances. Not only is air frying a healthier cooking method than deep frying, but it’s usually faster and safer as well. All of this without sacrificing the flavour or the crispiness. Don’t believe us? Give these air fryer recipes a go:
1. Salmon Quiche
When you cook eggs in an air fryer, you get a perfectly light and fluffy texture, and this salmon quiche is no exception. Quick and easy to cook, this recipe is packed full of protein and sure to delight any palate, whether you’re making it for lunch, dinner or brunch.
Start by preheating your air fryer to 180°C. Meanwhile, cut your salmon fillet into small cubes and season them with lemon juice, salt and pepper.
Set the salmon aside and let it rest while you make the quiche dough. Combine the flour with cold butter, one egg yolk and about one tablespoon of cold water, mixing it until you have a smooth ball. Spread some flour on your kitchen countertop and roll the dough into a circle, placing it in a quiche pan and pressing firmly along the edges.
Then, beat two eggs with whipping cream, mustard, salt and pepper. Pour the mixture into the pan, add the salmon and finely sliced green onions, and let it bake in the air fryer for 20 minutes.

2. Big Breakfast
The ultimate air fryer breakfast, this classic recipe has everything you need to start the day off right, from eggs to sausage, hashbrowns and more. The best part? You can make it in just 20 minutes, so it’s perfect if you don’t want to spend too much of your morning in the kitchen.
Simply place all your ingredients in your air fryer basket, using an egg ring or individual cake tin for the eggs. Drizzle some olive oil and bake at 160°C for 15 to 20 minutes. Remember to flip the sausages and hashbrowns halfway through the cooking time. Serve with a slice of toasted sourdough and some fresh greens for a pop of colour (and extra vitamins).
You can also make this breakfast vegetarian by swapping the meat sausages with veggie ones, or even vegan by making an air fryer tofu scramble instead of the eggs.

3. Ice Gem Biscuits
Looking for a sweet air fryer recipe? Well, look no further, as these ice gem biscuits make for a delicious, indulgent snack to satisfy all your sugary cravings.
The biscuits themselves call only for four ingredients that you probably already have in your kitchen: unsalted butter, icing sugar, eggs and cake flour. Whip the first two ingredients together until the butter turns pale yellow, at which point you can start slowly mixing the egg. Add the flour and gently fold it until you have a soft dough, which you’ll leave to rest in the fridge for half an hour.
Once the resting time has finished, split the dough into small individual balls, gently flatten them with a fork and air fry them at 140°C for 10 mins.
To make your meringue, whip egg whites and sugar, add the icing and mix it all until you have a thick consistency. Divide the meringue into two portions, adding colouring to one, and place each portion in a separate piping bag. Finally, pipe the icing onto the biscuits and dehydrate them in the air fryer for half an hour.

4. Vegetarian Lasagne
Lasagne is traditionally made in the oven and although delicious, it can be quite a time-consuming meal to prepare. However, with this lasagne recipe for air fryer cooking, you can spend less time in the kitchen without compromising on the quality of the final product. Featuring the same classic ingredients - think tomato sauce, cheese and homemade bechamel - this nonna-approved recipe takes only 1 hour to prepare.
First, you’ll need to cook the sweet potato and zucchini, two of the main ingredients that will replace the ground beef you’d typically use in a traditional lasagne. Then, it’s time to make your tomato sauce. Grab a medium pan and cook finely chopped onion and sliced mushrooms, along with seasonings like thyme and basil. Once soft, add the chopped tomatoes, tomato paste and balsamic vinegar and bring to a boil.
Finally, make the bechamel sauce by melting the butter in a saucepan, adding the flour, milk and of course, the cheese for that irresistible stringy pull in every bite. Assemble the lasagne, bake it in the air frying oven for 50 minutes at 175°C and buon appetito!

5. Dumplings
Want a quick and easy way to cook your dumplings? Why not consider air frying them so you get that golden crispy exterior paired with the delicious juicy filling. You can cook either frozen dumplings from the supermarket or freshly made ones in your air fryer. Just make sure you adjust the cooking time!
For homemade ones, cook in the air fryer for 6-7 minutes at 200°C, turning over halfway through. For frozen dumplings, cook for an extra 2 minutes and shake the air fryer basket several times throughout.
Serve with soy sauce, vinegar and chilli oil for a simple but delicious pairing.
