Frame TVs

Frame TVs are made to look like artwork on your wall when you're not watching them. Turn the TV off and it shows a painting, a photo or your own pictures instead of a black screen. Turn it on and it's a full 4K smart TV.
Bing Lee stocks the Samsung The Frame range alongside similar Lifestyle TV models such as the Hisense CanvasTV models, plus the frames and accessories to finish the look and tie into your living space.
Samsung The Frame
Samsung launched The Frame in 2017 and it's still the TV most people mean when they talk about an art TV. In Art Mode the screen displays artwork from the Samsung Art Store, a subscription library with thousands of pieces from galleries and museums, or you can upload your own photos through the SmartThings app.
The matte display cuts down reflections, so artwork looks closer to a printed canvas and daytime viewing isn't spoiled by window glare. The Frame comes with a Slim Fit Wall Mount that hangs it close to flush with the wall, like a picture.
The range includes The Frame, which uses a QLED panel, and The Frame Pro, which steps up to Neo QLED for better brightness and contrast.
Change the frame to suit your room
The Frame's bezel is magnetic and snaps on and off without tools. Swap the standard border for a customisable frame in white or beige wood to match your furniture, flooring or the art you display. Frames are sized to the TV, so choose the same size as your screen, and check the model year listed, as some frames are made for specific generations of The Frame.
Hisense CanvasTV
If you want the art TV look and are after a different model, the Hisense CanvasTV is worth a look. It has its own Art Mode for displaying artwork or personal photos when the TV is off, a Hi-Matte anti-glare screen and an UltraSlim wall mount so it sits flat against the wall. Bing Lee stocks the CanvasTV in 55", 65" and 75" sizes.
Note that Samsung customisable frames are designed for The Frame only and won't fit the Hisense CanvasTV.
Frame TV FAQs
What is a Frame TV?
A Frame TV is a smart TV designed to look like framed artwork. When it's not in use it displays art or photos instead of going black and it usually has a matte screen, a slim wall mount and a picture-frame style border.
What's the difference between Samsung The Frame and Hisense CanvasTV?
Both show art when switched off and both use matte screens to reduce glare. Samsung The Frame has the Samsung Art Store and a range of magnetic customisable frames sold separately, plus a Pro model with a Neo QLED panel.
Do I have to pay for artwork on The Frame?
You can upload your own photos at no cost. Full access to the Samsung Art Store library is a paid monthly subscription.
Will a customisable frame fit any TV?
No. Samsung customisable frames only fit Samsung The Frame TVs, and you need the frame that matches your screen size and model year.
Can a Frame TV be wall mounted?
Yes, that's how they're designed to be used. Samsung The Frame includes a Slim Fit Wall Mount and the Hisense CanvasTV comes with an UltraSlim wall mount, both letting the TV sit close to the wall like a painting.
