Frequently Asked Questions

What is this filter used for?

This charcoal filter is specifically designed for rangehoods operating in recirculating mode, where it cleans the air by removing cooking odours and grease particles before returning the air to the kitchen. It is an essential component for effective air purification when your rangehood is not ducted externally.

How often should I replace my rangehood's charcoal filter?

The charcoal filter should typically be replaced every 3-6 months, depending on your cooking habits and the frequency of rangehood use. Regular replacement ensures optimal odour removal and maintains the efficiency of your rangehood.

Does this rangehood filter also remove grease?

While primarily designed for odour absorption, this charcoal filter also captures some airborne grease particles, contributing to cleaner air. For primary grease removal, most rangehoods also utilise a separate metal or mesh grease filter, which should be cleaned regularly.

Is this filter compatible with all Fisher & Paykel rangehoods?

This Charcoal Filter is designed for specific Fisher & Paykel rangehood models that operate in recirculation mode. To ensure correct fit and function, always check your rangehood's user manual or product specifications for the recommended filter part number.

What is the main benefit of a recirculating rangehood that uses this filter?

A recirculating rangehood with a charcoal filter provides effective odour removal and air purification without the need for external ducting, making it ideal for kitchens where ducting outside isn't possible. It continuously filters and cleans the kitchen air, returning it fresh.
