Why Buy?
Compact induction cooking for tight kitchen spaces
This Westinghouse 30cm induction cooktop gives you two cooking zones in a space barely wider than a chopping board, making it a solid pick for anyone after a Westinghouse 2 burner cooktop that fits where a full-sized cooktop can't.
Induction heats the pot or pan directly rather than the surface underneath, so water boils faster and the cooktop itself stays cool to the touch. PowerBoost gives you an extra burst of heat when you need to get a pan searing hot quickly, and the built-in timer switches the zone off automatically once your cooking time is up, so dinner doesn't catch and burn while your attention is elsewhere. The flat black ceramic surface wipes clean easily since spills sit on top rather than baking on.
Day to day, the touch slide controls let you dial in the exact heat level with one finger instead of fumbling with knobs, and the Pause function drops both zones to keep warm the moment life interrupts dinner, then picks up right where you left off. At just 30cm wide, it's an easy fit for apartments, granny flats, caravans, or as a second cooktop next to an existing setup.
Buy this if…
- You're short on bench space but still want two proper cooking zones
- You want water boiling and pans heating noticeably faster than gas or electric
- You'd rather wipe down a flat surface than scrub around burners
- You're kitting out a studio, granny flat, caravan or secondary kitchen
- You prefer simple touch and slide controls over dials and buttons
