Why Buy?
A 98-inch picture that makes your lounge room feel like the cinema
The TCL 98P8LS puts a genuinely huge 98-inch 4K screen in your home, and if you are ready to buy online in Australia and want a TV that fills a whole wall, this is the kind of screen that does it. QD-Mini LED backlighting works closer to pixel level than a standard LED panel, so the picture holds detail in both bright and dark scenes instead of losing one to the other.
That backlighting brings richer colour, deeper blacks and higher peak brightness, so movies, sport and games look more true to life rather than flat or washed out. The HVA panel adds quick response times and a wide 178-degree viewing angle, so whoever ends up on the couch's edge still gets a clear, undistorted picture. Built-in ONKYO speakers give you fuller stereo sound straight out of the box, so dialogue and effects come through clearly without reaching for a soundbar. Google TV brings your apps, live channels and voice search into one simple menu, so finding something to watch does not mean flicking between inputs.
At this size, the 98P8LS suits open-plan living areas, media rooms or large lounges where you sit further back but still want every detail visible. The 5.5-star energy rating keeps running costs reasonable for a screen this size, and the straightforward Google TV interface means anyone in the house can pick up the remote and get watching.
Buy this if…
- You have the wall space and viewing distance for a 98-inch screen
- You want cinema-scale picture quality for movies, sport and gaming
- Your household hosts regular movie nights or sport with a crowd
- You want built-in streaming and voice search without extra boxes
- You care about colour and contrast as much as sheer screen size
