8kg Heat Pump Smart Dryer
INTELLIGENT DRYING | AI PERSONALISED
Dry laundry easily and effectively with powerful AI Control. This Heat Pump Dryer personalises drying by remembering your habits, suggesting cycles and displaying timely information. It even selects the perfect drying course for a wash cycle1, while the SmartThings App2 provides advice on cycles, planning and troubleshooting.
9-STAR ENERGY RATING | HEAT PUMP TECHNOLOGY
Heat pump technology offers a gentle and energy-efficient way to dry clothes. It has an impressive 9-star rating for energy efficiency because it uses a ‘refrigerant’ to heat the air, instead of electricity. It also recycles air to help reduce energy usage.
DRY WITH INTELLIGENCE | AI DRY
Enjoy quick and more precise drying* with AI Dry technology with 8 sensors. By continually sensing the temperature and humidity of the clothes in the drum it intelligently controls and optimises drying performance while being gentle on clothes.
DRY SMALL LOADS IN 35 MINS2 | QUICK DRY
No time to waste? The Quick Dry cycle uses high heat to get a small load of clothing dry and ready to wear in just 35 minutes3.
MINIMISE WRINKLES | WRINKLE PREVENT
Reduce wrinkles and save time on ironing. Simply select Wrinkle Prevent and, once the drying cycle ends, it intermittently turns the drum without heat for up to 180 minutes. This helps prevent clothes from resting in one place for too long while they are hot and reduces creases on the fabric.
OPENS HOW YOU WANT | REVERSIBLE DOOR
Choose the direction that the reversible door* opens to suit the layout of your home. Just change which side it opens to fit the location, what’s around it and how you do things. It also means that walls won’t get in the way! And it is transparent*,so you can check what’s inside with a glance.
EASY MAINTENANCE | 2-IN-1 FILTER
Maintain your dryer more easily and optimize the drying performance and safety. An innovative 2-in-1 Filter has a two-layered mesh filter. So there’s no need for a Heat Exchanger filter, making it easier to maintain. Two alarms also remind you when the Filter and Heat Exchanger need cleaning.

Why Buy?
Gentle, energy-smart drying for the whole family wash
The Samsung 8kg heat pump dryer (DV80T5420AW) takes the guesswork out of laundry day, using AI to learn your habits and pick the right cycle for each load while keeping running costs down thanks to a 9-star energy rating.
Eight built-in sensors keep track of temperature and humidity throughout the cycle, so clothes come out properly dried rather than over-baked or still damp, and the fabric stays in better condition over time. Need something dry in a hurry? The Quick Dry cycle handles a small load in around 35 minutes. Once drying finishes, Wrinkle Prevent keeps tumbling the drum gently for up to three hours, cutting down on ironing.
Instead of using electricity to generate heat directly, this dryer recycles warm air through a heat pump, which is easier on both fabrics and power bills. An 8kg drum suits a busy household's washing load, the door can be reversed to open whichever way works best in your laundry, and a simple 2-in-1 filter with reminder alerts keeps maintenance straightforward.
