Honeywell MN10CES Portable Air Conditioner, 10,000 BTU Cooling

Quietly cool the air with the sleek Honeywell MN10CES Portable Air Conditioner which not only cools but also dehumidifies the air. Each feature can be easily operated with the remote control. The Auto-Evaporation System allows for hours of continuous operation with no water to drain. This model comes with everything needed including an easy-to-install window venting kit. The window vent can be removed when the unit is not in use.

*All specifications mentioned are under test conditions, actual performance depends on ambient conditions.

They are compact, easy to operate and come in designs to suit any décor. The patented auto evaporation system filters, dehumidifies and cools the air and a flexible hose sends the heat to the outside through a window or other outlet, eliminating the need for a drainage tank.

Installation of the flexible hose is easy. Then just plug in the unit and you’re ready to stay cool.

A portable air conditioner is a freestanding cooling appliance designed to cool the air in a single room or moderately sized space. When air is cooled, moisture is removed from the air and hot air is exhausted. Some portable air conditioners discharge water into buckets that need to be emptied periodically. Honeywell Portable Air Conditioners automatically evaporate moisture and the hot air, which are directed out of the cooled space using a hot air discharge or exhaust hose.

Honeywell Portable Air Conditioners use an energy efficient R410-A refrigerant compressor, condenser and evaporator which are housed in a compact unit. The air is filtered, dehumidified and cooled using air to exchange heat, in much the same way a car or typical house air conditioner operate.

Some condensation on humid days but much quieter than another model we own.
Perfect for heatwaves
Love it,although a little noisy it does the job of cooling the room fast during heat waves.
The power cord could be a little longer as well but overall a pretty good product.
Not too shabby, needs oscillation and more kw’s for the price.
It works better in smaller rooms of course, cools down well after a while but ends up with a lot of condensation on the actual vent, not sure if it’s the best brand or not but I do think it’s over priced for not much kw’s etc when there are others who can provide more kw’s with their aircons for less the price, it was the only one available at the time, not too disappointed but not too overly impressed either, mainly with the price and no oscillation which would cool the room down better, you think that would be a thing with them but it’s not.
Just not good enough
The unit itself seems reasonably built etc, it just does not have the capacity to cool in an Australian summer. I have it in a 3x3m room on the southern side of my house and it will not cool any more than 5-6 degrees below ambient temperature (which on a 40 degree day just isn't that helpful). I left it on in this room overnight and by morning it had only made it down to 23 degrees (with no people or other appliances/devices or heat generating sources in the room). The spec of 12000 BTU's cooling capacity is supposed to be sufficient for a larger room than mine even taking into account 'very high ambient temp', but this is either not a 12000 BTU capacity machine or those recommendations are incorrect.
If you just want to sit in a room within 1.2m of the air con unit and have it blow a cool breeze on you, this will do, but do not expect it to cool down a room when it is hot.
Service is good Air conditioner quality is not so good
Comparing split systems 2 of which we have in our home with 3.5 KW each, they cool very well. The whole house cools to the required temperature using only the two. On the other hand the Honeywell 3.5 KW cannot cool a tiny room, 3.0 Mtr X 3.3 Mtr. That's incredible. When the outside temperature reaches 35 degrees, the Honeywell air conditioner brings the temperature down to 25 degrees not below. In a tiny room such as mine, it should make it feel like I am in a refrigerator. Its terrible.
